Hello! I'm Richard, an experienced drummer and tutor offering 1-2-1 drum tuition to all ages and abilities in Leicester. Lessons are delivered to the highest standards, to a simple formula:

With over 25 years playing experience, not to mention a doctorate in music, I'll help you avoid all the pitfalls and turn you into a great drummer.
About the lessons
Lessons are conducted in a friendly and relaxed style, and are structured around the individual's needs. All aspects of drumming are covered, including some of the following:
- Different genres, e.g., rock, blues,
jazz, latin, funk, reggae, classical; - Drum fills;
- Snare drum technique;
- Double bass drum pedal;
- Co-ordination / independence;
- Musicianship;
- Metronome / click track;
- Reading music;
- Linear time patterns;
- Music theory;
- and much more!
I teach from home during weekday evenings and Saturdays on my own acoustic kit equipped with volume reducing pads. Lessons can last 30 mins or 60 mins (please enquire for price details). Longer lessons can be arranged depending on individual circumstances. Payment can be made on the day of the lesson or in advance.

Exam Syllabus for Drum Kit - all my students have the option of taking Trinity Guildhall drum kit and snare drum exams, grades 1-8. These qualifications are recognised in accordance with the QCF system with grades 6-8 providing UCAS points.
